Caerleon is a town and community in Newport, Wales. Situated on the River Usk, it lies 5 miles northeast of Newport city centre and 5.5 miles southeast of Cwmbran. Caerleon is of archaeological importance, being the site of a notable Roman legionary fortress, Isca Augusta, and an Iron Age hillfort.

Sculpture Garden:

Walk off the high street, through the historic arch and over the cobblestones, and you will find yourself in an eighteenth-century walled garden peopled with sculptures of King Arthur, Merlin, Mordred and Morgana, and carvings of classic Welsh folktales from The Mabinogion. Among these – at 44 feet long – is the world’s largest love spoon. Here, reconstructed arches of the main Roman gates frame two huge murals, bringing the city beyond to life. Alongside, our shops and restaurant open out into the courtyard.

‘a unique collection of sculptures that has no equal anywhere in Wales.’
